Salsa Verde

Salsa Verde is a great addition to all things Mexican food, or even your favorite cut of steak!

As seen in my Carne Asada Taco Video!

Makes enough for 4 people

Ingredients:

  • 12 Tomatillos

  • 2 Garlic Cloves

  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Lime

  • 1/2 Red Onion

  • 1/2 Poblano Pepper (or Jalapeno or Chili)

  • Cilantro to taste

  • Salt to taste

  • Pepper to Taste

Step 1: Roast the Tomatillos and Garlic

Remove the outer husk from the tomatillos and give it a good washing. Take the skin off of the garlic cloves. In a large sauce pan, heat up olive oil on med-high. Add in the tomatillos and roast on one side until turning brown, then flip and repeat on other side. Quickly roast the garlic to get a little color.

Step 2: Pulse the ingredients

Add all of the ingredients to a blender and pulse until you have the desired consistency. Slowey add in salt, pepper, and cilantro until you get to the taste you want

Refrigerate to serve cold!
