Smoked Lobster Tails

Seafood can be daunting on a smoker, but it shouldn’t be! Lobster tails take in smoke flavor very well and basted in butter they always come out incredible!

As seen in my surf and turf YouTube Instructional: https://youtu.be/atMQBzm0FlQ

Ingredients:

  • 2 Lobster Tails

Lobster Seasoning Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Tsp Kosher Salt

  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1/4 Tsp Paprika

  • 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper

Smoked Butter Ingredients

  • 1 Stick of Salted Butter

  • Paprika

  • 2 Garlic Cloves

  • 1/4 Tsp Lemon Juice

Step 1: Prep the Lobster Tails

Using kitchen sheers, cut a line from the top of the tail down to the bottom fins.

Carefully insert a finger around tail meat against the shell.

Carefully pull the tail out of the shell and rest the meat on top of the tail.

Step 2: Season the Tails

Combine the lobster seasoning and lightly cover the top of the tails

Step 3: Create the butter pan

Combine the butter with the seasoning in a metal tin. This will go in the smoker along with the lobster and will be used to baste.

Step 4: Smoke the Tails

Preheat smoker to 225 degrees, and place Lobster tails on the top rack.

Every ten minutes, baste the lobster tails with the seasoned butter.

The tails should take appx 45min to an hour. Look for an internal temperature of 140 degrees.

Let them rest for a few minutes.

Enjoy!
